Last November, we had reported
about the Ads for Adobe PDF which would be powered by Yahoo service. Now finally this service is out and is available for all publishers. This announcement was made on the YPNblog, last Friday. However, it would be interesting to note that their has not been much of a hype around this release.

Though much like any other online advertising units, the only difference with Ads for Adobe is that they are embedded onto PDF documents. And the ads would be displayed in a panel adjacent to the content. This on the other hand would also make sure that the ads would not be found obstructive by the viewers, while they are reading the content. The Ads on Adobe would be
matched to the content of the PDF document, and Yahoo would make sure that the meta tagging features of Adobe PDF files match. So as a PDF document publisher, you would need to tag your documents properly. For publishers,
Ads on PDF is a great opportunity to monetize PDFs with contextual, text-based ads next to your content. As these ads are on a PPC basis, therefore every time a user clicks on the ads displayed on PDF documents,
the publisher gets paid.

In order to get started with Yahoo's Ads for Adobe program, publishers would have to register first and then they can start uploading their document to the Ads for Adobe site where Yahoo will embed the appropriate ad units. The YPNblog said,"By signing up for this service, you get paid every time someone clicks on an ad displayed next to your PDF documents. So the more
your document gets downloaded, the more potential it has to make you money."
