And Now Add a Google Map to your blog!

Google is coming up with a new feature next week. With this feature, users can easily embed a Google Map into their Website or blog. The latest feature works something like the way webmaster can embedd YouTube video on their sites. The best thing about this new feature is that no coding or programming is required. Just the simple procedure of copying and pasting a snippet of HTML, and you get a Google map embed. This feature was conspicuously missing when Google launched its My Maps service on Google Maps in April.

According to the Google spokeswoman, "To embed a Google Map, users will simply pull up the map they want to embed–it can be a location, a business, series of driving directions, or a My Map they have created–and then click 'Link to this page' and copy and paste the HTML into their Web site or blog.”

The map will be fully interactive, where the users can drag and click or zoom in on a location. The maps will also include satellite and hybrid modes.

This new mapping service by Google is sure going to a hit as user-generated maps is one of the most popular features on Google Maps. Google is doing a great job in getting mapping and local data in areas where little structured data and few commercial databases exist, like outside the U.S. in selected countries.
