November 18th, 2006 | RSS Feed
According to New York Times Yahoo! has bought Bix.com. Bix.com is a site where advertisers and users can make, decide and enter in online contests. Yahoo! will allow Bix.com to function independently and will integrate their technology in its social media sector like Yahoo 360, Yahoo Groups and Flickr which is a photo sharing site. For Bix.com, vice president for strategy of Yahoo!, Bradley Horowitz said “I have been following Bix since they launched. It is absolutely addictive and absolutely compelling.”
The acquisition will give a boost to the social media offering of Yahoo! as other sites like YouTube and MySpace have given a strong competition to Yahoo!. The deal price has not been made public.
