Ask City Releases Data On Top Searches
April 17th, 2007 | RSS Feed
Ask City has released data for local search results for last four months. The initial feedback during the first few weeks was encouraging. However, according to the recent search engine market share data by Hitwise, Ask’s share has gone down from 3.99% to 3.48% this year.
Ask has released data in two categories, Business search (subcategories: Top services and Top Dining Choices) and Event search (subcategories: Top Even Types and Top Artists).
The top searches in the Top services subcategory are:
- Restaurants
- Hotels
- Churches
- Banks & credit unions
- Car dealers
- Lawyers/attorneys
- Family doctor
- Furniture dealers
- Children & Daycare
- Hair salons
“American food” is still the most favorite food in America followed by Italian and Pizza in the second and third place. In the Top Artists category, Blue Man Group
Hannah Montana and The Police occupied the top three places. Ask City still is pretty useful but it has not popularized Ask as was expected.
