Mysterious billboard advertisements have been seen along Highway 101 between San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Valleywag has confirmed that they are by Ask. The slogan on one of the billboard says, “The Algorithm Killed Jeeves”. This message has got everyone confused. Many are wondering whether Ask is trying to target Google because of their 'world conquering' algorithm.

Valleywag informs, “One of the slogans, "The Algorithm Killed Jeeves," appeared to refer to the also-ran search engine's trademark butler; Google is the company with the world-conquering algorithm. And Google had been tweaked by a faux-guerrilla campaign by Barry Diller's Ask, which papered the city's underground, and lampposts, with an appeal to consumers to break the information monopoly.”

The second billboard says “The algorithm is from Jersey” might just about be referring to Ask's main center.
