Yahoo has obliged the request of web developers to incorporate Sponsored Ads as a way of revenue generation on their websites. The proposal was made by web developers who use Yahoo!'s Build your Own Search Service (BOSS).

Yahoo! has arranged a third party for managing everything. It means that developers will have to apply through Domain Development Corp (DDC) to get selected to have Sponsored Ads on the BOSS search sites. Moreover, DDC will provide support and payment for the program and not Yahoo!

Yahoo! has come up with a major change in its Search Portal. In a Recent post, Yahoo Search blog announced its new Yahoo Search format to demonstrate their innovation in search technology and make your search more advanced to deliver a rich user experience.

The previous changes introduced by Yahoo includes a new Yahoo! homepage, improved Yahoo! Mail, high-quality video calling in Yahoo! Messenger, and a suite of new Yahoo! Mobile experiences.

Yahoo's search and infrastructure expert Doug Cutting is leaving the company to join Cloudera. He will be leaving Yahoo! at the end of August, 2009. Cutting created the Hadoop technology for Yahoo's search index.

It basically shows things like how many reviews or ratings a business has. With the change, Yahoo! went on to include links to information users tend to take interest in, such as actual text of the reviews, photos and driving directions. The content is displayed right on the search results page.
