“Checkout Icon” Increases Conversion By 40% & Clicks By 10%, Claims Google

Google is claiming that having Google Checkout as part of AdWords ads will ultimately lead to an increased conversion and click through rate. The narrative is visible at Google Checkout Merchant homepage. Google Checkout badge is there to make your advertisement stand out from the other advertisements.
Here is the statement:
“Google Checkout users click on ads 10% more when the ad displays the Checkout badge and convert 40% more than shoppers who have not used Checkout in the past.”
According to Google Blogoscoped,
Google quotes one advertiser, Fred Lerner of Ritz Interactive, saying the Checkout icon has given them 'a 23 percent lift in clickthrough rate.'
