January 5th, 2007 | RSS Feed
First results of Google Newspaper Ads Test have been published at PPC Discussion. The much-talked test results recorded less than 1,000 visitors for the site via newspaper ads. It generated 70 percent fewer page views in comparison to the visitors who arrived through PPC channels. Visitors came from the print ad had also spent 30 percent less time on the site than PPC traffic. Jeremy Mayes concludes, “So overall the newspaper test delivered a small set of visitors who had metrics that were below average when compared to PPC traffic."
Do we have the first proofs of a media divide here? It is too early to say but the tests will indicate the level of cross over traffic between the online and offline media.
