French Publisher Sues Google

A French publishing group is suing Google for piracy. The case relates to Google's controversial effort to digitise millions of books for online viewing. This is the third case filed against Google for its book scanning program. The other two are Association of American Publishers and Authors Guild.

The project as we have discussed before aims to scan millions of books taken from the collections of several major world libraries. It will involve full text of books in the public domain, as well as short extracts of copyrighted books.
