Gmail Hit by the Infamous 302 Hijack!
August 6th, 2008 | RSS Feed
According to The Google Cache, Gmail has been hijacked by the infamous 302 Hijack, that until a few years ago had been used on a wide basis to steal rankings.
The embarrassing hijack of Gmail illustrated below via Images:
“As you can see, Gmail.com, or mail.google.com, are not ranking for the keyword gmail.com in Google. Instead, the ranking is replaced by a spam blog on blogspot.comâ€

However, the cache image still shows the page as Gmal.com.

“The perpetrator may have done this accidentally, however it appears that he did use spam-links to attempt to rank the site.â€

But, now it seems that Google has taken care of this problem and has restored Gmail to its original status.
