Google Adds Image Filter with Specific Color
March 24th, 2009 | RSS Feed
In one of the recent posts, Google Operating Systems announced the addition of a new option that lets you refine images on the basis of a specific color. Earlier, users only had the option to filter results on black&white images, grayscale and full color images. However, the new filter allows users to refine their results by picking a predominant color.
For example, while searching for "red birds" a person has to specifically mention 'red' in relation to the bird, with a little tweak the results will be restricted to only red birds:
- The option is not yet available in the user interface for now, but you can modify the above mentioned URL to try it.
- Just replace the color "red" to "blue", "green", "teal", "purple", "yellow", "orange", "pink", "white", "gray", "black" and "brown" and see the difference.
- The new option is believed to save a lot of time on scrolling through numerous search results during image search.
