Kevin Gibbons reports that the Google AdWords Qualified Professional logo has been malfunctioning since the beginning of this week. The logo is used by companies or individuals as a certification of their having met the requirements to be an AdWords Professional. By clicking on the logo, you can view the AdWords page which verified the authenticity of the claim.

However, resulting most likely from a technical glitch, the AdWords log in page is displayed instead of the verification page. Though speculations are rife that this is another of Google's commercially oriented moves to direct people to AdWords, I am not sure how a log in page can get conversions for Google.

In fact, Google only stands to lose if people can't differentiate a legitimate professional from an imposter. It’s a technical problem and should be shorted soon.
