Google Announces Brand New Webmaster Tools Layout & Design!

Google has announced a brand new Webmaster Tools design.

Following are some of the highlights of the new design:

  • One-stop Dashboard: Google has revamped their dashboard to bring together all the things that you view regularly.
  • More Search Queries: From now on you can track up to 100 queries for impressions and clickthrough. Moreover, they have also improved data quality in this area.
  • Sitemap Tracking: Earlier, you were unable to monitor Sitemaps submitted by other users or via mechanisms like robots.txt. However, now you have the option not only to track the status of Sitemaps submitted by other users but also for yourself.
  • Message Subscription: Just subscribe to Message Center notification to remain up-to-date without having to log in as frequently.
  • Improved Menu and Navigation: To locate and access features easily, Google has reorganized their features into a more logical grouping.
  • Smarter Help: Every web page will have links to relevant Help Center articles.
  • Verified Sites to Access Detailed Functionality: Every site will be verified properly before accessing any features in Webmaster Tools, including features such as Sitemaps, Test Robots.txt and Generate Robots.txt.
  • Enhanced Image Search Option Removed: Google has removed the enhanced Image Search option from Webmaster Tools. However, regardless of this setting, the Google Image Labeler will continue to select images from sites.

Although, the old version will be made available for a couple of weeks, to allow users get adjust and provide feedback. Google has tried their best to localize this product, but it is possible that you may certain missing translations in a few areas of the user interface. The only exception is that Google Help Center, will be available in 21 languages and still continues to expand.
