Google Bowled Over by Cricket
May 8th, 2006 | RSS Feed
As reported by a blog, Google has taken everyone by surprise by creating a special Googly Cricket Ads package targeting Cricket websites and search keywords related to the game. This is with an eye on the India-West Indies Series 2006 round the corner.
However, this service is not for small advertisers as the cricket ads package starts at a whooping Rs 1 lakh. Google has also released Cricket Live Scores, a free Google Desktop sidebar plugin that displays Live Cricket scores Live for all Cricket matches played by India.
The Google Office in Hyderabad, which supports the Adwords clients, is also the first chapter of the International Google Cricket Club. Cricket and Cricinfo were also the two most popular queries on Google. If one has any idea how popular the game is in the contient, the Google service would seem nothing but wise.
