Google Breaks Records : Largest Number of Dead and Old Pages

The Google Operating System Blog, reports that Google holds the crown for having the maximum number of dead and old pages. A research from Google's Ziv Bar-Yossef, discusses how to gather a random sample of pages from major search engines and to contrive information about search engine from those pages. It also gives a comparative study of Google, Yahoo! and MSN, following these methods, and the result declares that Google contains largest number of dead pages.
The blog informally announces a new joining, Ziv Bar-Yossef, in the team of Google, just a couple of weeks back. Ziv Bar-Yossef was previously working with IBM Almaden Research Center, and was recently at Technion-Isreal Institute of Technology, Israel. Along with him, Ziv Bar-Yossef brings a new knowledge package to Google, as he was also wrote some papers about sampling random pages from a search engine's index using queries.
