Google Cuts Temporary Workers With No Further Details!

The recession has even prompted Google to practice this term called “cutoffs.†The search and advertising giant has declined to comment further on this issue but according to a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the search engine has 24,400 employees, including 4,300 interns, temporary workers and contractors. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the records earlier this week.

But the statement holds a big contrast with the almost 10,000 contractors that Google co-founder Sergey Brin said the company had in the month of October.

But at the same time, the filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission won't resolve the mystery either. The latest statement which says that 4,300 temporary workers are mentioned in the documents represents a subset of the 10,000 contractors that were mentioned in the affirmation made by Brin in the month of October.

So it would not be a wise thing to conclude that the overall difference between these figures reflects the total number of people cut by Google, because the search engine has different types of contractors. But still, the difference can not be ignored at all.
