Google Introduces Rich Snippets

The Google Webmaster Central Blog recently announced the release of rich snippets. It will allow users a brief summary of information about their search results.
Here's a preview of the Rich Snippet:

Snippet, as we know, is a small sample of the content which allows users find relevant pages. Google uses a variety of techniques to create these snippets and enable users find relevant information when they click through different sites. However, to highlight structured data in web pages the rich snippets applies Google's algorithms.
Google is now beginning the process of displaying better search results that allow users to find new data valuable. Webmasters can help by annotating their pages with structured data in a standard format.
To display Rich Snippets, Google looks for markup formats (microformats and RDFa). You can easily add these markup formats to your own web pages. Just wrap the data on your pages with some additional tags.
Adding standard annotations in your web pages, not just make your data available for Google's search results, but also for any service or tool that supports the same standard.
