Google News- Three Digit Numbers No Longer Required in the URLs!
March 25th, 2009 | RSS Feed
Webmasters are no longer required to include three digit numbers at the end of the URL to be in Google News. However, they need to submit a Google News sitemap to alert Google crawlers.
These numbers didn't mean much and were primarily used to get Google's News spider worked. With the announcement, most webmasters have started removing these numbers to keep their URLs keyword specific.
Now, you can create sitemap for your website with the help of Google News Sitemap generator plugin.
According to Google News,
“The three-digit-number requirement is waived if you submit a Google News sitemap in order to alert our crawler to your news articles in your Blog.
