Google is educating users about the 'related search suggestions' and how it helps users narrow their search and get what they are looking for. According to the Google Blog, Google identifies related search queries by evaluating data from multiple sources. In related search suggestions, Google provides users with valuable automatically generated suggestions, that would be most appropriate to their query. While these related search suggestions are usually shown below the search results, the algorithm sometimes causes them to display above the search results.

Following the Google tradition, the search team at Google has introduced some new improvements in their algorithms, that would enable Google to process information at a much faster rate. Subsequently, these improvements in the algos ensure that the user is provided with fresher suggestions for queries on current topics of interest.

Here are a few examples of the new improved related search suggestions:

If you input a search for iPhone, in accordance with your query, you'll also get to see related search results pertaining to he brand new 3G iPhone.

If you search for tomatoes, you'll see suggestions around the recent salmonella outbreak.

It is quite an informative feature and at the same time is quite fun to see your queries yield results, you could never relate to. However, keep in mind, that you will not see related searches if you enable strict Safe Search filtering. As of now this feature is enable for U.S users only and that too in English language only. But, as always, Google would we rolling it out for other languages as well. So, you may just need to wait for some time.
