Australian IT informs that "SEARCH engine Google will run text-based advertising on the websites of The Daily Telegraph, The Herald Sun and The Australian, among others, after striking a deal to add News Digital Media to its content network."

This deal is expected to generate millions of dollars from PPC revenues to both parties. This also means that Google now replaces Yahoo! as the search query provider on NDM websites.
Richard Freudenstein the chief executive of NDM said, "We are extremely pleased to partner with such a significant global player like Google and extend long tail advertising on the NDM network." Richard Kimber, Google's regional MD said the deal would let users to search News Digital Media's own content and archives.
“Google has announced its plans to begin to compete with traditional media companies for a slice of the $10 billion media market but Mr Kimber said this deal did not include other display advertising formats or video ads.
In May, Fairfax Digital chief executive Jack Matthews indicated that his company's deal with Google could generate "millions of dollars".â€
