September 1st, 2008 | RSS Feed
A few weeks ago we had reported some of the aspects of the non-exclusive search partnership between Google and Yahoo!
CEO Eric Schmidt confirmed that the company is surely taking the Google-Yahoo! partnership deal further, despite Regulatory Concerns and immense pressure from the US Justice Department.
Schmidt said:
"We are in the process of talking to the government. They've not indicated one way or the other how they're dealing with us," said Scmidt.
'We are going to move forward, “Schmidt said today in an interview with Bloomberg Television in Denver . “We are in the process of talking to the government. They've not indicated one way or the other how they're dealing with us.” he further added.
“We are going to move forward,” Schmidt said on Thursday, as quoted by the Seattle Times. “We are in the process of talking to the government. They’ve not indicated one way or the other how they’re dealing with us. We always worry a little bit, but we think our arguments are pretty strong. Yahoo has made it very, very clear they’re going to take the best parts of their network and ours and combine them.”
“We continue to cooperate with regulators,” Google spokesman Adam Kovacevich confirmed this through an e-mail. “Ultimately we have confidence that they'll be able to conduct their review within that time period and allow us to move forward."
Google, which is without any doubt, the most popular search engine, is trying to conduct this deal in the midst of all the concerns, in order to make sure that it will allow the company to get more power in the online advertising market which is worth 65 billion dollars.
