Google's IE7 Marketing Page 'Inspired' By Yahoo!?
December 12th, 2006 | RSS Feed
Have a look at Yahoo!'s IE7 marketing page. Next, view the Google's splash page for same. There is no way you can miss the striking similarity! Jeromy Zawondy , who works for Yahoo! brought this to notice in his blog. "Back when IE7 launched, Yahoo! created a customized version and began to market it to our existing IE users.
Today it seems that Google has similar intentions. So similar, that they decided to basically copy our page and slightly Googlify it. If you look, the design, layout, and most of the text are the same!"
Jeromy wonders if the product marketing person at Google was just out of ideas for the splash page or perhaps the page is good enough to be copied!
