Google's Supplemental Query To Go!

Google’s Matt Cutts has come up with some smart solutions for the hot discussion on the unofficial 'show your supplemental results in Google' query. He is confident that the query will not work for much longer.

With supplemental query one gets the same amount of results on any particular query that one can get with a standard site query. Matt Cutts in a comment on SEOmoz, said “it’s good to remove this query”. According to Matt Cutts, the supplemental query are not new for Google at the "Give It Up" session. He even pointed out that "Give It Up" mention of this query is more like a reminder to check on why this wasn't fixed yet. Supplemental Results are getting removed as Google does not want users to focus on them at the cost of other aspects of SEO.

Speaking more on the issue, he even talked about his personal preference on this issue. He wants the 'Supplemental Results' to be dropped because these type of results are:

1. getting fresher and fresher, and
2. starting to show up more and more often for regular web searches.

Despite all these drawbacks, supplemental results can be used to identify any potential crawling/linking/site structure issues with clients’ sites. But the negative connotations associated with it cannot be overlooked.
