It has been noticed that when search word "Local" is typed on MSFT's Live.com, we get the following results:

1. local.google.com
2. local.yahoo.com

It is said that local.live.com is the seventh result. (It's the second paid result.) With such a thing there can be multiple responses for Microsoft. And more interesting fact about Live.com is that it has introduced new facility on "metasearch." According to the sources the "search within this site" feature gives an access to users to search for Google or Yahoo! or other sites while still sustaining the Live.com account. This means that one can stay within Live.come while working on multiple sites at the same time.

Now whenever you click on the search result, you will make an entry to the content page. But, it would be beneficial for the Microsoft to move ahead with it's "site preview" feature like that of Ask's Binoculars Site Preview or Browster. If this is done, then the entire pages including their content can be viewed while still remaining in the Live.com.

If Microsoft is experimenting with it's "search within results," then on the other hand Google is working on a similar feature "exapandable search results." But, whatsoever the reason be this step by Microsoft is surly a different one.

Further more, it is said that Microsoft's LiveDrive will offer it's services even before the much talked about Google's rumored GDrive. The main function of this would be to provide users almost an unlimited storage capacity. Amazing. Search engine war is on, so let's see who wins the game.
