158632369_6768d2b443_o.pngIn the beginning of August, we reported that Yahoo! would include videos in Flickr. For news as big as this, ever since there hasn't been many updates or news.

However, on August 23, 2007 in a New York Times article called "Changes to Yahoo Video on the Way" where Mike Folgner, Yahoo! Video's GM and Rebecca Paoletti the director of Yahoo's video strategy mentioned about a number of changes Yahoo! would be bringing before the end of the year.

"most notably the launch of a more complete YouTube-like video portal, where users will be able to view and share videos, create playlists and interact with others."

Folgner who joined the search giant a year back said, "We're going to make it a more cohesive experience. Video is going to be everywhere on Yahoo."

According to Folgner Yahoo! has one of the biggest collections of licensed videos on the Web. It makes sense for Yahoo! to step up and try to raise the bar. However, to know whether yahoo's new video portal would pulverize YouTube, we only have to wait.
