Now Damage the Google Ranks of Competitors, Really?

In a thread at Search Engine Watch Forums, there is an interesting discussion about a service one member was offered. The service in question has offerings, like
- Drop the search engine rankings of your competitor.
- Pay them to protect your own search engine rankings.
The service provider company is also using threats in their email marketing message, like “Give me money or I will drop your Google Rank”, "Pay up or have your forum spammed!", "Pay up to this url or have your forum heavily spam." and “Your forum will be spammed in the next few days".
To overcome this problem Robert Kerry, Forums Editor advised, "just hit the delete button". He also added, “install CAPTCHA images on the registration page, require email verification and even add nofollow's to the posted links of new members”
