Review On SEO Guide By Google!
November 17th, 2008 | RSS Feed
So, Google has finally released an SEO guide for the beginners! It has been a while now…
“Although this guide won’t tell you any secrets that’ll automatically rank your site first for queries in Google (sorry!), following the best practices outlined below will make it easier for search engines to both crawl and index your content.” -Google
Here’s a list of some of the most important points of WHAT NOT TO DO!
- Never opt for a title that does not have any relation with the content on the page.
- Never use unknown or vague titles like “Untitled” or “ User 1″ or something like that.
- It is never recommended that one should use a single title tag across all the site’s pages or a large group of pages.
- Never give large and bulky titles that are unhelpful to users.
- Never gear the title tags with undesired keywords.
- Never write a description meta tag that does not have any relation to the content on the page.
- Never make use of generic descriptions like “This is a webpage” or “Page about baseball cards”.
- Never fill the description with only keywords.
- One should never copy and paste the entire content into the description meta tag.
- Never use single description meta tag across all of your site’s pages.
