Second Web 2.0 Awards Announced

Winners of the second Web 2.0 Awards were announced. Sites ranging from Web Giants which gross over a Billion annually to self-funded sites were nominated, the basis of judgment being the quality and consistency of performance.

The awards included 41 exhaustive Categories that ranged from Web Development and Design, Travel, Blog Guides, Philanthropy to Social Networking and everything else in between, to awarding honorable mentions within each category to 205 sites. Categories like "Professional Networking" and "City Guides & Reviews" are this year's new additions. Also, unlike last year where all the winners were selected by the staff of SEOmoz this year's judges included a more formidable team of bloggers, marketers and web-based businessmen who were more familiar with the sites.

The folks at SEOmoz deserve a round of applause for a job well done with their sophomore effort!
