Google has announced in its recent official blog that Similar Images feature will now be graduating from Google Labs to become a permanent feature in the Google Images. You can now click on “Find similar images” below the popular image result to get the result.

When the Google team revamped Labs in April 2009, it also introduced the Similar Images for highlighting the innovative work of engineers working on the project. With Google Labs, the team gets an opportunity to present some of the ideas in front of you and refine them on the basis of feedback received. And it is the support and constant feedback that has helped Similar Images to move a step further from Google Labs.

If you want to find the images of Ancient Egypt, Google Images will provide you with variety of results including relics, pyramids or other image types. But, instead of seeing every image, you can narrow down the search result by clicking on “Find similar images”

In case you have narrowed down the results for the results, you will get to see the Great Sphinx of Giza:

Or you will get results on illustrative mapes of Ancient Egypt:

Or ancient Egyptian-style drawings result:

As the team Google is committed to continue using Google Labs for showcasing and collecting feedback, it is also trying to make it easier for you to give direct feedback on the aspects of Google Images.

The team has also announced the availability of the Product Ideas for Google Images in the official blog. Now, you can post comments that will be viewed by the members of Images team and all this would be done by product ideas.
