not so sure that the blogs and social sites are giving it a temporary bump, it has to be some sort of update, im seeing one site jump to 3rd and then down to page 3 within 20 minutes!

The reason i don't see this being blogs, is that I have not created any blogs while this happens, its rather frustrating though, wen you try to explain to a customer what is happening to their site, and why there getting plenty of orders one day, and none the next!

Lets hope it settles down soon, on a good note though, during page rank update, all my sites increased :-D

Real estate websites have been jumping around for 2 months or more now. One day one of my sites will be #4, and 30 minutes later it's #9. The next hour it will be #6.

I've had my friends from California to Florida to Virginia check their Google SERPS on my site and they show the same thing.

My theory is that it's because everyone is using blogs and social sites to rank. A new blog post or feed into a social site bumps you up and then wears off after a couple of days.

Could be wrong, but that's my thought.

This will influence internet marketing strategies. Webmasters will have better job security to keep abreast of SERP rankings. Great explanation in layman's terms. Change is good and let's hope it translates into better website content.
