Yahoo! To Freeze Wages: Is It A Blunder?
January 24th, 2009 | RSS Feed
Recession is going on. A lot of companies are laying of their employees and some are freezing the salary hikes of their most deserving employees. Yahoo! is doing the same. The company has recently announced that it would freeze any wage hikes for the year. And not a few, but all the employees are included in the freeze.
And above all, most of the talented people are already leaving the company to seek better prospects outside! And in this scenario, one has to wonder if this is another Yahoo! blunder. In this competitive market, freezing salaries may cause the company to lose their work staff but some of their talented folks as well.
It seems that after massive layoffs, freezing wages is their next strategy to cope up with the economic crisis.
