Yahoo Testing Real-Time Search!

While putting an end to the recent rumors and to match its rivals, Yahoo has declared that it will test the real-time search feature in the search results. The step taken by Yahoo will enable it to provide updated, minute-to-minute Internet search results to the information seekers.
Because of the popularity of microblogging service Twitter that enables to broadcast 140 character messages, Real-time search has emerged as a popular way of finding information on the Internet. OneRiot is a real-time search engine focusing on the links & content from Twitter and other social media sites.
OneRiot will collect the real-time Internet information from various sources like Digg, Twitter and from its network of 3 million users who are using the company's software.
OneRiot is one of the companies that will be providing real-time results to Yahoo on trial basis. The data will initially be available to around 10 percent Yahoo users. It is also said that Yahoo is conducting real-time search tests with other companies also.

I think Yahoo needs to test everything they can in order to stay competitive. They have had their feet stuck in the mud for quite some time now.

Who cares? Isn't Bing still taking over Yahoo? In a few months "Yahoo" won't be doing anything but showing Bing results….so what's the point of Yahoo adding social for 2 months? Weird…
