Yahoo's Newspaper Consortium & Ad Alliances Grow!

Yahoo! to establish global online advertising alliance, informs Digitimes. Yahoo! is expanding its Newspaper Consortium & global ad partnerships, Yahoo! President Susan Decker, announced at a press conference in Taipei on October 24.

susan-decker.jpg"Yahoo! has already reached agreements with 19 newspaper groups operating more than 400 local newspapers around the US, to carry Yahoo! advertising on the websites of these newspapers while Yahoo! will carry the newspapers' advertising beginning mid-2008, according to Decker. The alliance aims to integrate Yahoo!'s global presence and large number of visitors with the newspapers' localized characteristics and local user bases, and thereby bring in more advertising clients and revenues for both sides, Decker pointed out.

The win-win model of cooperation is planned to be extended to other categories of web portals and will be introduced to Taiwan, said Yahoo! senior vice president of Asia, Rose Tsou, the former managing director of Yahoo! Kimo (Yahoo! Taiwan)."
