YouTube Pays For Videos Clips
October 11th, 2006 | RSS Feed
This is no joke that YouTube pays its users for their video clips, this decision was made after the website was bought by Google for the price of $1.6bn. The users will receive some portion of advertising revenues collected from the page containing their videos. The video clip can be anything from a home video to a snippet of TV shows, music gigs or even be a sports event. This has attracted many big shots of recording industry, including Universal, which has signed a deal with YouTube to distribute clips and protecting the rights of their artists.
Mr Hurley, who started YouTube, said: "Our community has played a vital role in changing the way that people consume media. By joining forces with Google, we can benefit from its global reach and technology leadership to deliver a more comprehensive entertainment experience for our users."
Sounds like good deal.
